The gift of your journey to attend our wedding is a blessing that humbles us and fills our hearts with
gratitude. It is the only gift we could possibly accept. We and our local wedding planner will be here
every step of the way to ensure smooth logistics and a trip filled only with delightful memories.

You can reach Colmar, France most easily from international air hubs in Paris, Basel, or Zurich. Renting
a car to attend our wedding events is unnecessary as they are either within stumbling distance of our

hotel or we will provide transportation. Still, were you to be interested in sampling
even more vineyards and hikes in your downtime or to continue a carefree journey to another part of
France or Europe, renting a car is a genius move. Otherwise, a train ride and a taxi will have you covered.

Kindly note that if you are planning to extend your travels either before or after our wedding events, the
Tour de France 2024 takes place June 29th through July 21st (this year, it starts in Florence and finishes in
Nice) and the 2024 Summer Olympics will be held in Paris from July 26th through August 11th. These
events themselves do not overlap with or interfere with your travel to Alsace but might inspire you
to make flight bookings at your earliest convenience.

Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG)

If you choose to fly into Paris, you have two compelling options to reach Colmar. The first
involves renting a car and embarking on a six-hour drive through northeastern France that takes in the
beauty of the countryside along the way, including Champagne and Burgundy.

Alternatively, you can take a TGV high-speed train from central Paris or CDG, whisking you to Colmar
in about 3 hours (either nonstop or with a change in Strasbourg).

  • For train travel from central Paris or CDG airport, please use the SNCF website to view schedules and purchase tickets in advance. (If you are coming from Paris, buying in advance is recommended.)

    • Select “Colmar (Grand Est)” as your destination station.

    • From central Paris (specifically Paris Est station), direct trains to Colmar depart twice per day and trains changing in Strasbourg depart almost every 30 minutes. Journey time is approximately 2.5 hours.

    • From CDG Airport, trains are a bit less frequent (every 1-2 hours) and all will require a change in Strasbourg with an approximate journey time of 3 hours.

    • A local taxi or Uber from Colmar Station will bring you to L’Esquisse in 5 minutes.

Basel-Mulhouse International Airport (BSL)

We love flying into Basel right on the French-Swiss border, which offers an efficient and well-connected airport with easy driving access to Munster and the Alsation Winelands beyond.

From Basel airport, you can also rent a car (50-minute drive) or take a train (1 hour changing in Colmar) to Munster. We highly recommend renting your car (on the Swiss side of the airport) and enjoying the scenic drive through the picturesque countryside and villages.

Basel-Mulhouse International Airport (BSL)

We love flying into Basel right on the French-Swiss border, which offers an efficient and well-connected airport with easy driving access to Colmar and the Alsatian Winelands beyond.

From Basel airport, you can also rent a car (40-minute drive) or take a train (1 hour) to Colmar. We highly recommend renting your car (on the Swiss side of the airport) and enjoying the scenic drive through the picturesque countryside and villages.

  •  For train travel from Basel-Mulhouse Airport, you will first take a 10 minute commuter bus from the airport to Saint-Louis station (staying on the French side, you do not need to go to Swiss side or Basel SBB train station).

    • On the SNCF website, select “Saint-Louis Station (Grand Est)” as your departure and “Colmar Station” as your destination.

    • The frequent train will be approximately 35 minutes and including the commuter bus, this option is approximately 1 hour in journey time.

    • A local taxi or Uber from Colmar Station will bring you to L’Esquisse in 5 minutes.

  • Or you can rent a car! BSL is a quirky airport with a French and a Swiss side, with their own car rental agencies. Either is easy to access, so check to see which offers you the best prices and the car you’re after, especially that one with an automatic transmission! (We like Europcar on the Swiss side).

Zurich International Airport (ZRH)

If you're feeling chic (or a Star Alliance devotee), you can fly into Zurich. This is ideal if you are considering adding a few days for lakes and hikes. It's a pleasant 2.5-hour train from Zurich airport with a change in Mulhouse or under a 2-hour drive to Colmar.

  • For train travel from Zurich airport or central Zurich, you will transfer 1-2 times in central Zurich and/or Basel. Please consult the Rail Europe website to view schedules and purchase tickets for both the French and Swiss train companies.  There are options departing every 20-40 minutes. Total journey time is approximately 2.5 hours from the airport or 2 hours from central Zurich.

  • Car rental is also an easy option!
